Lesson Agreement & Studio Policies
West Sound Flute Studio & Sorcha Barr-Deneen have set policies for attendance, payment, and scheduling. Please review the below policies. Contact Sorcha at westsoundflutestudio@gmail.com or (720) 258-6499 with any questions.
LESSON SCHEDULE
The Academic Year (September-June) schedule is created in August and applies for the duration of the term. Students may be able to shift lesson time or day depending on availability.
This schedule includes breaks for Thanksgiving, Winter/New Year, Spring Break and Federal Holidays.
Occasionally, lessons will need to be rescheduled due to Sorcha’s performance schedule. This information will be provided as early as possible and any affected lessons will be rescheduled.
LESSON FEES AND PAYMENT
Lesson fees are due by the first lesson of each month. An invoice will be sent to the email address on file and will list each scheduled lesson for the coming month. Payment can be made by check or credit card.
Sorcha reserves the right to not teach any lessons that have not been paid in advance.
If music books are bought by the teacher, the cost of the music will be added to the lesson fees.
Private and group lessons have a different pricing structure. For group lesson pricing, please contact Sorcha. Pricing dependent on number of students and location.
Private lesson pricing, in Studio and Online
30 Minutes: $35
45 Minutes: $50
60 Minutes: $65
Midweek check-in (optional, encouraged for beginners and competitors): $15
Lesson prices increase periodically with notice.
LESSON CONFLICTS & CANCELLATIONS
Please do not schedule appointments during your lesson time. If this is unavoidable (e.g., special doctor’s visits, dental work, school conferences, etc.), please notify Sorcha at least 48 hours (2 days) before your scheduled lesson.
Cancellations without 48 hours notice are subject to a fee equal to the lesson cost.
Group lessons cannot be made up and students in group lessons will forfeit their lesson fee in the event of missed lessons.
MAKE-UP LESSONS
Lessons can be rescheduled/made-up for illness.
If you are ill, please notify Sorcha at least 3 hours before the lesson time and we will reschedule the lesson.
- If you cannot notify Sorcha at least 3 hours before the lesson time, rescheduling may be available on a case-by-case basis.
- Absences or cancellations due to illness without 3 hours notice are subject to a fee equal to the lesson cost.
Should Sorcha be ill or need to reschedule your lesson, she will let you know as soon as possible. Lessons may be held online during your scheduled time rather than rescheduled.
Prompt attendance is required for all lessons. If you are running late to a lesson, please let Sorcha know via a phone call, text or email.
Time missed because of tardiness cannot be made up.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of school closure due to inclement weather, lessons will be held online. Students (and parents/guardians) will be contacted by 12pm on the day of their regularly scheduled lesson to confirm and share the Zoom link.
